Use this page to determine the age of your Ferguson tractor.
Select the type of tractor you have and then enter the serial number
from the dashboard plate. The models of Ferguson tractor that this
age calculator works with are the TE-20, TO-20, TO-30, TO-35, and F-40.
Not sure what tractor you have? Ferguson TO-35's and F-40's have
two shift levers providing 6 forward and 2 reverse gears. TO-30's
have the oil filter on the right side of the engine (as you are sitting
on the tractor), as opposed to the TO-20 oil filter which is in the oil
pan. Still not sure? Gas model TO-35's and F-40's have
Continental Z-134 engines. TO-30's have Continental Z-129 engines
and TO-20's have Continental Z-120 engines (if they're gas models, of
course, and they have not had the engine replaced with another model).
The Continental engines have this number cast into the block on the left
side near the distributor. There may be other casting numbers
there as well, but this Z number should be visible.
Some models of Ferguson tractor will have a three letter prefix
before the set of numbers.
